September 2018 Progress Report
On October 16, 2017, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued BOD 18-01, mandating all executive branch agencies to implement DMARC to strengthen email security. Executive branch DMARC adoption has increased to 83% as of September 14, 2018.
By October 16, 2018, all .gov domains are required to implement a DMARC reject policy. As of September 14, 2018, 64% of the 1,144 executive branch domains have implemented DMARC at its strongest enforcement level: “p=reject.”
