October 2018 Progress Report

On October 16, 2017, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued BOD 18-01, mandating all executive branch agencies to implement DMARC to strengthen email security by October 16th, 2018. As of the deadline, executive branch DMARC adoption has increased to 86%.

All .gov domains were required to implement a DMARC reject policy. As of October 16, 2018, 77% of the 1,144 executive branch domains have implemented DMARC at its strongest enforcement level: “p=reject.”
