SAN MATEO, Calif. – Sept. 27, 2016 – Agari, a leading cybersecurity company, today announced it has partnered with Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), an international, cross-sector non-profit dedicated to identifying, confronting and preventing cybersecurity risks, to fight cyberattacks. This new partnership will enable Agari to work closely with GCA and its global network of partners to drive adoption of DMARC, which is a critical component to preventing advanced email phishing attacks. Currently, 90 percent of all DMARC email worldwide is processed by the Agari Email Trust Platform, which has visibility into ten billion email messages per day and three billion email inboxes worldwide.
According to a recent Gartner report, “phishing is the most common targeted method of cyberattacks,” and another recent Gartner report highlighted, “a comprehensive and effective anti-phishing program extends protection beyond the perimeter to detect and eradicate phishing campaigns that abuse corporate brands and names in attacks against customers and members of the public.”
GCA is dedicated to confronting cyber risk and improving the connected world. The organization is working to bring communities of interest and affiliations together in an environment that sparks innovation with concrete, measurable achievements. While most efforts at addressing cyber risk have been industry, sector, or geographically specific, GCA partners across borders and sectors. One of the group’s initiatives is to build and distribute toolkits for reducing the burden of DMARC implementation on organizations, as well as create a public awareness campaign for DMARC.
“I am happy to welcome Agari to GCA as a partner. As a leader in email protection they bring great technical expertise and understanding to our efforts to combat cyber threats, particularly as we are currently focused on the risk of phishing,” said Philip Reitinger, president and CEO, Global Cyber Alliance.
“We have a long history of working with law enforcement to track down cybercriminals, and are excited to work with GCA and its growing network of partners in our mutual fight against cybercrime,” said Seth Knox, vice president of Marketing, Agari. “As a founding member of DMARC, we’re already working with six of the top ten banks and five of the world’s leading social media networks to protect their enterprise, partners and customers from email phishing attacks. We now look forward to working with GCA as well to promote use of the DMARC standard, which helps email senders and receivers work together to better secure emails, as well as reduce the burden of DMARC implementations on organizations.”
