Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) are sophisticated attacks where an unauthorized user gains access to an organizations system or network. Once access is gained the attacker will lie in wait to avoid detection and gather information to uncover where valuable data is held with the goal of exfiltrating critical corporate data. APTs have caused several large and costly data breaches and are a concern for organizations due to their ability to bypass traditional security measures.
